Flight Booked!

I just got my flight to Vietnam booked! I am so excited! I have been anxiously trying for days to reach the travel agent and I finally got ahold of her this morning! I will be leaving San Francisco on May 10th, connecting in Hong Kong and arriving in Saigon on May 11th and departing Saigon on July 25th, arriving in San Francisco that evening. AH!!!! It's really happening! Things don't really sink in until I buy my ticket...but now that it's purchased, it's really beginning to hit me! I'm so happy and so excited! Vietnam, here I come! Next on my list: apply for Vietnam visa. This means I need to go to the Vietnamese Consulate in San Francisco. Non-Vietnamese applicants are only allowed a one-month visa. However, if you are ethnically Vietnamese, or a child of a Vietnamese, you can be granted an exception. I'm My mom usually takes care of it, writing a letter declaring her maternity, and they give me a Vietnamese visa. But I'm going to be doing this by myself this time, and will have to prove my Vietnamese ethnicity to the officers at the consulate. I'm a little nervous because I am not sure if they'll ask me questions in Vietnamese, and as you know, my Vietnamese is pretty limited. I'm going on Monday morning! Wish me luck!
