Lamb of God

One of the perks of living in the Bay Area is that we are only twenty minutes from the Oakland Temple. For those of you who haven't seen the Oakland temple, it's absolutely gorgeous. There is a Visitor's Center with wonderful exhibitions and friendly sister missionaries that can answer any questions you might have about the temple. Aside from the temple and visitor's center, Matthew and I have really enjoyed all the free music and theater performances on Temple Hill at the Oakland Interstake Center, which also happens to be our Stake Center building. In December, we attended the Nutcracker, and today we had the privilege of watching the Lamb of God Easter Orarotio.

I can't adequately describe my feelings about Lamb of God in writing. Put simply, it was the most moving production I have ever witnessed about the life, death, and resurrection of the Savior. The strongest I have ever felt the spirit was when I was watching Lamb of God on Easter Sunday at the Oakland temple. The orchestra was powerful, the choir was angelic and the soloists were breathtaking. It was the perfect way to spend Easter Sunday - our first Easter away from family and friends. It rejuvenated my testimony of Christ, that He lives, that He died for each of us, and that we can be resurrected and live with Him again at the last day.

I know that the composer, Rob Gardner, must have been divinely inspired to compose this masterpiece. There's no other way he could have produced such an amazing work of art. I love the music, the melodies, the lyrics, and have been listening to the CD nonstop since Sunday. I must point out that the spirit that I felt while watching this live on Temple Hill is irreplicable.

If you are ever in the Bay Area during Easter time, I highly recommend that you watch this oratorio.
